Week 10

Sleep Quality: A Key to Good Health | Physician's Weekly

Creating an Intervention – Things to consider

The overall plan for our Intervention is to give our client lots of techniques to try to see if her sleep improves. We want her to have a decent sleep routine made so that she can have better health. “Sleep and health are strongly related – poor sleep can increase the risk of having poor health, and poor health can make it harder to sleep.  Sleep disturbances can be one of the first signs of distress. Common mental health problems like anxiety and depression can often underpin sleep problems.” (The mental health Foundation, 2016).

We will be implementing a schedule including exercise, relaxation and screen time. We will ensure that she will be getting enough exercise throughout the day, but also that she is relaxing a couple of hours before bed without screens. Relaxing techniques are meditation, reading, yoga e.t.c.

These exercises can relax the mind ready for bed. We have not needed to seek medical advice and we have obtained our clients consent.
